Our Trees - Douglas Fir

Wide and Full

This hardy "blue" strain is widely used as a Christmas tree in the northeast. Its lush, blue-green foliage, with needles about one inch in length, is very attractive. Its sturdy branches and outstanding needle retention make this evergreen a holiday favorite. We are moving away from growing douglas fir and have extremely limited numbers. This particular type of tree has been devastate Swiss needlecast in Pennsylvania. This fungus causes the needles to turn reddish brown and eventually fall off. We will be adding a new strain of tree in the future, so check back for updates!

Our Trees - Canaan Fir

Cousin of the Fraser Fir

This tree is a genetic variation of the traditional Balsam Fir. Its needles tend to be longer, about one inch in length, and vary more in color. Its foliage, however, can often resemble the bottlebrush appearance of the Fraser Fir, which is the Canaan Fir's southern counterpart. Relatively new to the Christmas tree industry, its popularity continues to rise and is one of our favorites!
